Museum of the year 1994
In 1994 the Jewish Museum in Stockholm was awarded the “Museum of the Year” prize by the Association of Swedish Museums. This was the first time the prize had been awarded. The Association stressed the imposing program of events, all the more impressive in view of the small physical size of the museum. The citation read: “Showing positive sides of Jewish life, its creativity, its contribution to the arts and its vigor in combatting dark forces make the Jewish Museum in Stockholm an important contributor in the fight against ignorance, racism and xenophobia”.
